RULES

Monthly Indie Shorts welcomes filmmakers from every country, culture, and background.

We are interested in discovering stories that are bold, personal, creative, entertaining, thought-provoking, and culturally diverse.

Whether you are an established filmmaker or making your very first short film, your story deserves to be seen.

By submitting a film or project to Monthly Indie Shorts for consideration, the submitter confirms that they have obtained all necessary rights, permissions, licenses, and clearances required for the submission and potential festival exhibition.

The submitter accepts full legal responsibility for the intellectual property and content contained within the submitted work, including but not limited to copyright, trademarks, music, images, performances, footage, and other third-party materials.

By entering the festival through FilmFreeway or any official Monthly Indie Shorts submission form, the submitter grants Monthly Indie Shorts permission to exhibit the submitted work as part of the festival’s online programming. Exhibition may consist of the full film or an official trailer/excerpt, depending on the filmmaker’s selected exhibition preference and the festival’s programming requirements.

The submitter also grants Monthly Indie Shorts permission to use the film’s title, poster, still images, trailer, excerpts, synopsis, filmmaker information, and other submitted promotional materials for festival-related promotional and publicity purposes, including on the festival website, social media platforms, press materials, and other official communication channels.

The submitter further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Monthly Indie Shorts, its organizers, staff, jury members, representatives, and partners from any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from claims relating to copyright, trademark, intellectual property, credits, publicity rights, permissions, or the authorized exhibition of the submitted work.

Monthly Indie Shorts is not responsible for any loss of or damage to submitted screening materials.

– We do not require premiere status.
– No political/religious propaganda.
– No pornography.

– Films can be from all languages but must have English subtitles at the time submitted.
– Short Film runtime between 2 to 40 minutes.
– Project starting 2020 and Above.

SCREENING FEES

Monthly Indie Shorts does not pay screening fees.

By submitting your film through FilmFreeway or an official Monthly Indie Shorts entry form, you acknowledge and agree that the festival does not provide payment or screening fees for films selected for exhibition.

Submission to Monthly Indie Shorts constitutes acceptance of these terms.
