Karim Araman
About the Founder Karim Araman is a Lebanese filmmaker, television producer, editor, animator, and academic with more than two decades of experience in film, television, and digital media. Born in Beirut in 1977, Karim holds a degree in Cinema Studies and worked as a television producer across several Arab countries from 2000 to 2011. His professional experience spans production, directing, editing, animation, and visual storytelling. Alongside his filmmaking career, Karim teaches Radio and Television, sharing his industry experience with the next generation of media professionals. His work as a filmmaker has received recognition through multiple awards. In 2020, Karim founded Monthly Indie Shorts, an online platform dedicated to independent short filmmaking. After a period of interruption, he is bringing the festival back with a renewed vision: to connect filmmakers, discover new voices, and give independent short films an international platform to be seen and celebrated.
Hassan Al Ghoul
Hasan Alghoul is an instructor at the Lebanese International University, where he teaches Workshop 1, Workshop 2 and TV Directing, covering video production, filmmaking and television directing. Alongside his university teaching, he has trained more than 1,000 people and delivered training programs for UNRWA, UNESCO and Fighters for Peace, including a Training of Trainers for instructors at the UNRWA Siblin Training Centre. He holds a Master's in Cinematography from the Lebanese University, Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture. He works as Director of Photography on campaigns, television commercials, documentary and branded productions, taking projects from developing the idea to lighting, shooting and finishing it. He has worked with leading brands in Lebanon, and his credits include documentary work for Al Jazeera Documentary, a national campaign for Search for Common Ground, podcast seasons, and product and jewelry film. He was awarded Best Cinematography at the Lebanese Independent Film Festival. He is the founder of Space Platform, a creative platform producing work for agencies and companies. He maintains a strong interest in AI and emerging technology, keeping his practice current with industry standards.
Jack Berro
Jack Berro is a Lebanese film composer, sound designer, educator, and media professional whose career spans film production, music composition, education, and creative entrepreneurship. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Radio and Television, a Master's Certificate in Music Production from Berklee College of Music (Boston), and a Master's Degree in Educational Management earned with Honor, Berro has built a multidisciplinary career dedicated to the power of storytelling through sound and visual media. As the founder of JBMP Studios, he has contributed original music and audio production to more than 230 short films, 7 feature films, and over 400 original soundtracks. Throughout his career, he has received 12 international nominations for Best Music and has won 5 international awards for Best Music and Sound Design, while also mentoring emerging talents and supporting the growth of the creative industry. Through his work as an artist, researcher, and educator, Berro continues to explore the intersection of creativity, technology, and human emotion, believing that meaningful stories have the power to inspire, connect, and transform communities.
Laurent Chomel
Laurent Chomel, Born in Paris, France, Film and TV producer in France and all over the world since 1990,worked for many TV stations as an Artistic Producer such as TF1, Al Jazeera … Holder of a Ph.D. in the media, Technologies, and internationalization. Laurent is also a researcher at the University of Paris 8.
